About the Program

Revolutionizing Construction Training with Additive Construction including Structural Insulated Panels (SIP's) & Three-dimensional Construction Printing (3DCP)

Norseman Construction in partnership with Printerra and Build a Dream, is launching Toronto’s first 8-week, in-person training program devoted to Additive Construction.

  • Experienced tradespeople will gain hands-on skills with:
  • 3D Construction Printing (3DCP) – fast, precise concrete structures
  • Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) – high-performance, energy-efficient envelopes
  • Advanced modular wall systems – prefabricated components for flexible design

The robust hands-on and classroom curriculum also teaches you how to read blueprints created for additive construction through the Revit® software, and it includes Health & Safety training/certification needed for workers in the construction industry with a focus on 3DCP scope of work.

What You’ll Learn

  • Operate 3D construction printers and other 3DCP equipment on construction sites
  • Work with and around 3D printed concrete walls
  • Install modular wall systems (SIP) on traditional and 3DCP construction sites
  • Integrate 3DCP and SIPs into hybrid builds that are rapid, strong, and sustainable

Who Should Apply

  • Tradespeople and general labourers with construction experience
  • Displaced or underemployed workers looking to re-enter the workforce
  • Women and individuals from underrepresented groups in the trades

Program Highlights

  • Free, full-time training over 8 weeks (Monday to Friday, in person)
  • Small cohorts (16–17 participants) for focused, hands-on instruction
  • Real-world tools, materials, and training aligned with emerging construction methods
  • Job placement support upon completion, helping graduates enter advanced
    construction roles

Your commitment

  • An 8-week, full-day course held five days a week at York University.

When

  • There will be three cohorts starting in August, October, and December.
