Working with Norseman has been exceptional from start to finish. They have been communicative, responsive, and reliable at every point of our large renovation. Their approach is highly transparent and tailored to each client's needs and hopes. The outcome is better than we could have hoped for - beautiful, well-executed, on budget and on time! A particular shout out to our project manager, Mohammad Hagshenas, who is truly remarkable at what he does (as well as being a wonderful human). Norseman helped us remove a load bearing wall in the living room. When we started nobody knew if it was an actual load bearing wall or not and what the required work would be to remove it. Norseman investigated the situation and helped to come up with a plan to demolish the wall. It ended up more being more work as we thought, but we had great confidence in Norseman to make sure the work was done safely and right. Besides the removal of the wall we also had custom cabinets made, redone the fireplace, isolated the attic and some electrical work. The PMs, Robert and Greg, kept us well informed and helped to rectify any issues that came up.

Norseman recently completed a main floor renovation to our home. We were delighted with the transparency of their contracting and payment system; their level of communication; the care, flexibility and attention to detail of our property manager Ezad and the quality of their work. In all the difficulties that renovating poses, I would highly recommend working with Norseman.

Our next-door neighbours were doing a complete gut and rebuild of their house. We needed some exterior work done, so got in touch with Norseman, their contractors. We met with Rob Borden, who then introduced us to Dave Wagner, the project manager for our neighbours and ultimately for us. We are very happy with all the work that was done. The subcontractors were all punctual, efficient, and very good about cleaning up at the end of each day. Very happy with the work Norseman did on our kitchen extension rebuild. We have an old townhouse in east Toronto and were nervous about doing significant renos. Thanks to the work of Ezad, Robert and Shahid (and the whole team at Norseman), our project was completed ahead of time and on budget. Most importantly (to us) they respected our neighbors and were able to work in tight quarters professionally and efficiently. Lots of documentation, photos, clear invoices and timely responses. There were lots of small details throughout that they took care of that let us know that they were paying attention. Even after the project was done, Ezad dropped off a chocolate gift bag at Christmas and checked in. Small details like that can make a huge difference and overall were are very happy with how the project turned out.

It was a big job to turn our cramped and crumbling kitchen into the spacious office/kitchen combo it is today. Thank you! We had Norsemen complete a renovation of our home focused on the kitchen and bathrooms and we're thrilled with our new spaces and love being in them. The team at Norsemen delivered big - our PM Mo was key to that and made sure that all the different parts kept moving and was on top of any issues that came up and let us know right away what happened and needed to be done to fix it. Mo was always available if we had any questions and would get back to us right away throughout the whole process to make sure we were happy. Had our basement Renovated In Danforth/East York. Greg and his team were good at keeping us up to date on the status and provided helpful suggestions with regards to design decisions and any issues that arose. Having a house built in 1910 and a poorly finished basement from prior owners, there were some challenges but Greg and team helped us navigate these.

Norseman Construction helped us transform our main floor and bathroom this year, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience or results! The renovation was extensive, involving a basement and main floor rear extension, so we had banked on there being delays and cost overruns. To our great relief (and the surprise of everyone we’ve told), our reno had neither, and it is thanks to the amazing planning and execution by the Norseman team. They patiently listened to our renovation goals, answered all our questions, and promptly dealt with the very few and minor issues we encountered during and after the project. We are so grateful to our project manager Mo who lived up to his speedy reputation. He treated our neighbours respectfully and helped us navigate party wall concerns to everyone’s satisfaction. More importantly, he had our backs and best interests at so many stages, he earned our enduring trust. The rest of our Norseman team was great too. Ghalib inspired us and brought our design ideas to life. Our kitchen and main living spaces are extra beautiful thanks to his vision and attention to detail. Bryan was the first person we met and made a great impression. He was extremely thorough and easy to work with as we planned the project. We are proud owners of a recently extensive renovation of an 180 year old Edwardian residence in a historical district in downtown Toronto by Norseman Construction. From the start Norseman was attentive to our intention and concern toward the project. Detailed information and cost factor was presented and any changes we needed were made to keep in line with our budget. On site design design was presented and all requirements for city permits were made and obtained. Construction began and our project manager Dave could not have been more helpful in seeing it through with us. The communication between client and builder cannot be underestimated. We were pleased to have weekly face to face on line meetings with Dave and Kevin where questions were answered and suggestions and help was promptly given. Dave provided photos and schedules of ongoing and upcoming work three times a week, which kept us up to date on progress. Norseman provided necessary professionals and skilled trades people to remedy any unexpected problems presented with such an old building. Though the renovation took longer than any one anticipated Norseman saw it to completion. As with most home renovations there were challenges and set backs but solutions were quickly provided with a professional approach. We are happy with the final product especially with the details of the workmanship and are please to live in a beautiful new/old home. Thanks Norseman team. C&T

We just finished a beautiful reno with Norseman! It was a great outcome all around. Would highly recommend them. Our project manager Rob was awesome. They were extremely competent, knowledgeable and allowed us to feel comfortable trusting them to manage the details of the project. They inspired a lot of confidence in us from the beginning and that continued throughout the project. Their communication and updates were frequent and informative; and they were easily reachable whenever we needed. Their team and trades were very respectful and enjoyable to be around - and the work was very professional and well done. Their price was fair and transparent and there weren’t surprises along the way. We felt like they were doing everything they could to save us money along the way. The design services through Ghalib were definitely worth it - left us with a much more beautiful space than we otherwise would have, and also saved us tons of time in researching and comparing options. Norseman Construction has been an integral part of our lives for the past 5 years. We had never done a renovation prior to purchasing a bungalow in 2020 and came across Norseman and moved forward - somewhat blindly - with our first renovation with them as we were on a time crunch! Our first reno was a large basement reno - underpinning and building a basement apartment plus additional living space. We began this work one week prior to the COVID pandemic being declared and were one of the only projects they were allowed to continue with due to the open excavation. Throughout the pandemic, they navigated the staffing and supplies issue so well and the project ended almost within the originally proposed timeline, which was a huge feat. We were so impressed we moved onto our second project - a 2.5 car garage with a 670sq foot second floor one-bedroom laneway suite. We were one of the earlier laneway suite projects in Toronto - and Norseman's first - so we navigated the regulations and figured out the best way to build this project to maximize our space. Throughout this project, Norseman's Project Manager Robert Hansen was invaluable. He quickly learned all the laneway suite city regulations, managed a tricky urban forestry situation and consistently organized trades to work on this project despite the continued COVID pandemic staffing and supplies issues. So, when it came time to move to the third and most significant project, the natural choice was Norseman. We insisted our Project Manager be Robert Hansen, and again, we were not disappointed. This project entailed us living in our basement apartment while the roof of our house and the entire first floor was ripped apart. Robert was extremely diligent in ensuring we got the most exposed parts of this job done as quickly as possible. Neighbours would walk by daily and comment on how fast things were moving! Norseman, and PM Robert, were incredible at organizing all the trades to come at the right times to ensure the project was completed within a very tight timeline. We were living in our new home in less than 6 months! Overall, we highly recommend Norseman Construction. We hear horror stories of other companies who take eons to get work done and projects end up way over budget. With Norseman, we have not had any of these concerns. Our work has been done with excellent care, within budget, and within timeline. Thank you Norseman!

Norseman construction did an extension of our second floor as well as redoing our kitchen. They were great to work with. Clean, fast and very good work. A special shout out to Robert, our project manager. Couldn’t have asked for a better person to keep the job on track. He went out of his way to ensure things were kept on track with the trades and was great with communication and working through any issues that arose. He even introduced himself to our neighbours at the start to make sure everyone was happy. Overall we are ecstatic with the work Norseman completed and would highly recommend.

Update on my original review below. We finished the renovation with Norseman and could not be happier with the result. Doing a renovation throughout COVID presented many challenges (supply chain, delays in permitting etc.), but I can honestly say Norseman was not one of them. They met with us weekly to review the project and every other day we would receive photos and updates via their cloud based project management tool (builder trend). Our project manager was Rob, who was great! Rob on several occasions went above and beyond to make sure our house was taken care of. Kevin was also great and even when we ran into bumps, they came with solutions not excuses. Overall, we would definitely recommend them and likely work with them again in the future. Previous review below: My husband and I have had a great experience working with Norseman. We are adding a back addition to our Scarborough bungalow and renovating the interior as well. The entire team from Kris, Kevin, Howard and Shahid are so easy to deal with. Shahid, who is the Norseman architect, has been phenomenal and very flexible. He worked hard to understand our needs and design a floor plan that works for our family. We have two young boys, one with special needs, and the design needed to work for our family. We've also had the pleasure to engage Norseman for interior design services and are so happy with the work. We can't wait for the finished product but wanted to share a positive review for the work done so far. Thank you Norseman!

Thank you to the Norseman team for transforming our kitchen, basement and bathroom! Ghalib’s designs were functional and beautiful. He really listened to what we hoped for and cared about. Mo was everywhere, all the time, making sure things got done. The trades he arranged were hard-working and professional – the pride they took in their work shows in the results. Communication was great, both directly with Mo and Ghalib, as well as centrally through the BuilderTrend portal. Literally every day we walk through our home and say, “This is awesome!”

Robert B and his team did an absolutely fantastic job overhauling two bathrooms in my house in a compressed period of time. Our need for a renovation was sparked by a leak in our bathroom upstairs, and the team very much understood the challenges of living life with a toddler while not having a bathtub. They made significant efforts to parallel track everything to get the job done as quickly as possible. Max and his team did phenomenal work while also pandering to our small kid. Overall, great work by Norseman. We felt like we made the right choice.

We had an awesome experience with Norseman Construction! They renovated our 1980s backsplit—updated the kitchen and living room, and added a beautiful office above the garage. The whole place went from super dated to fresh, modern, and way more functional. Ezad was our project manager and he was fantastic. Super professional, always on time, and kept in touch with us almost every day. It made the whole process feel smooth and easy. Really happy with the quality of the work and how everything turned out. Would definitely recommend Norseman to anyone thinking about renovating!

We had an excellent experience working with Norseman Construction for our basement renovation! The entire team was very communicative and professional from beginning to end. Bryan, our construction specialist and first point of contact, was very responsive and coordinated a project scope and timeline that worked perfectly for us. Greg, our project manager, was a pleasure to work with - he managed all the components of our project efficiently, kept us informed about progress and next steps throughout, and was always available to answer our questions. He and all the tradespersons (electrician, plumber, painter, drywall) went above and beyond to deliver high-quality work with great attention to detail, and we are very happy with the final result! A Five-Star Renovation Experience – Mo Set a New Standard We recently completed a second-floor renovation with Norseman Construction, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish — thanks in large part to our incredible project manager, Mo. With a second child on the way, we had to move out during the project. Handing over our keys was a nerve-wracking step, but those nerves quickly disappeared. Mo treated our home like his own, and the level of care, communication, and professionalism he brought to the process was truly exceptional. What blew us away: our project finished two months ahead of schedule. Mo and Kevin held weekly Zoom check-ins to keep us aligned, and we had access to a CRM where we could track progress, receive photo updates, and manage invoicing. Everything was transparent, organized, and efficient. Mo’s coordination of trades was flawless. Every detail — from craftsmanship to scheduling — was handled with precision. His respect for our space and commitment to quality made this renovation stress-free and even enjoyable. We miss our daily chats with Mo! Since returning home, we’ve had neighbors regularly stop us just to comment on how fast and well everything was done. It’s clear Norseman, and especially Mo, sets a new standard for what a renovation experience should be. Highly, highly recommend.

Norseman construction did a bunch of work in our basement to update a bathroom, floor, laundry and add multiple built ins. Their communication throughout the project was unparalleled in my opinion. They answered all questions and clarified when required pretty much at all hours of the day even though that wasn’t an expectation. Their work was done as expeditiously and carefully as possible which was great because the end of the project coincided with the birth of our child so we really needed responsible and clean contractors. They helped us to make decisions and stay on track and helped suggest solutions and fixes when we ran into problems. The end product is so beautiful. Yuri and Greg were the dream team and we would not hesitate for a second to hire them again in the future.

We hired Norseman to extend our home on both floors. Norseman was to do the extension to drywall/rough-in, and we would do all our own finishings. The original plan was being out of our home 3-4 months, most likely home in January of 2023. Norseman and our contractor went well above and beyond accomplishing all they promised and more. When our Project Manager stepped in at the start, he understood how important it was for us to be out of the house as little as possible, and possibly be home for Christmas. HE DELIVERED. Not only were we only out of the house for 6 weeks (of the originally planned 16), we were home for Christmas. They organized and scheduled everyone on time, and when a promise was made to complete parts of work by a specific time, they were done, and done well. Thank you Norseman and Robert. We couldn't be happier. PS. Rob is still checking in on us, making sure our deficiencies are taken care of as planned, helping us with some tips and hints on our DIY finishings. Our house is starting to look like home again.
