Canada’s housing affordability crisis requires new solutions, and Norseman Construction is leading the way through Project LiveWell — an innovative approach to mid-rise housing that blends speed, efficiency, and sustainability.
Since we first introduced Project LiveWell earlier this year, the concept of six-storey, industrialized buildings has captured the attention of communities, policymakers, and partners across Ontario. Today, we’re excited to share how this vision is gaining traction and what it means for the future of housing.

Why Six Storeys?
Six-storey mid-rise housing offers the sweet spot for communities: tall enough to create meaningful density, yet low enough to integrate seamlessly into existing neighborhoods.
This design approach directly addresses Canada’s missing middle housing gap, providing new options for families, seniors, and young professionals who are being priced out of traditional housing markets.
From Concept to Community Impact
The LiveWell model combines advanced Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) with emerging 3D concrete printing technologies, cutting timelines and reducing costs without sacrificing quality.
These efficiencies translate directly into affordable, sustainable homes that meet the needs of growing communities.
We’ve already taken major steps to put this vision into action, with a key proposal submitted under the City of Windsor’s recent RFP. This marks the beginning of our efforts to replicate LiveWell’s six-storey model across Ontario.

Industrialized Construction in Action
At the heart of Project LiveWell is a shift toward the industrialization of construction — treating building more like advanced manufacturing than traditional site work.
By leveraging SIPs and 3D printing, we can:
- Reduce construction timelines by months.
- Improve energy efficiency and long-term operating costs.
- Deliver consistent, high-quality housing at scale.
What’s Next
With municipal interest growing, partnerships expanding, and the technology now in place, Project LiveWell is positioned to scale across Ontario.
As more communities embrace six-storey mid-rise developments, Norseman will continue working with partners, policymakers, and builders to make affordable housing a reality.
